Public statistics

Definition

The term public statistics refers to all material generated by:

- statistical surveys specified in the list codified every year by a declaration from the Minister for the Economy;

- the use, for purposes of general information, of data collected by administrations, public and private organizations with a public service role;

Design, production and publication of public statistics are conducted with full professional independence.

Public statistics are defined at article 1st of Law No. 51-711 of June 7th 1951 on obligations, coordination and the secret in statistics.
