Inter-decile ratios
Definition
The deciles of a distribution enable calculation of the inter-decile ratios :
- the ratio D9/D1 evidences the difference between the top and bottom of the distribution. It is one of the measurements of the inequality of the distribution ;
- the ratio D9/D5 compares the top of the distribution to the median value ;
- the ratio D5/D1 compares the median to the bottom of the distribution.
