Productivity of resources

Definition

Productivity of resources is equal to the GDP measured at constant prices divided by the domestic consumption of materials (in euros per kilo). The domestic consumption of materials is an aggregate, in tons, of fossil fuels, mineral and agricultural products, extracted from the national territory or imported in the form of raw materials or finished products, minus exports. It measures the total quantity of materials physically used by the national economy to meet the needs of the population.
