Unemployed, job-seeking population (PSERE)

Definition

A distinction is made among the unemployed (in the sense of the ILO) for a category of persons who are however involuntarily without employment during the week of reference, but who do not look for employment. They are persons who have taken steps to assume a salaried job or to pursue an independent activity at a later date (in three months), and are available quickly to work. The other unemployed persons in the sense of the ILO make up the "population of unemployed, job-seeking persons" or PSERE which forms the greater part of the unemployed persons in the sense of the ILO.
