Holiday placement

Definition

Holiday placements cover placements in families when they last for at least 6 consecutive nights and concern a maximum of 11 minors per family.

There are two kinds of placements :

- either the family takes in the minors directly, whereupon it is a "holiday placement" ;
- or an intermediary agency places the minors in families, whereupon it corresponds to a "holiday placement centre".

This category of placement of minors was in force up until August 31, 2006. Since then, community educational placements of minors have been separated differently.
