Définition

The Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) created in 1960 (Bagdad Conference), has its headquarters in Vienna and has twelve member countries (Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Venezuela, Qatar, Libya, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Nigeria, Angola and Ecuador). Its objective is to coordinate the petroleum policies of its Member States in order to ensure a return on investment for producers and provide oil to consumers.
