Complex household (in the sense of census surveys)

Definition

For census surveys, a complex household is defined in relation to other types of households. It is a household that is not :

- a person alone in the dwelling ;
- a one-parent family, meaning a household (in the sense of census surveys) composed of one adult and one or several children ;
- a couple without children ;
- a couple with at least one child.

The couple and child in this definition are the couple as defined in census surveys and the child as defined in census surveys.
