Social sector housing

Definition

Social sector housing is :

- housing that belongs to HLM (low-cost housing) organisations or other social housing landlords (for example, housing owned by semi-public companies) and which are governed by HLM legislation as regards the setting of rent amounts ;
- housing outside the scope of HLM organisations but implementing HLM rent amounts.

Note

Accommodation with assistance and homes for the elderly or disabled are not part of social-sector housing.
