The municipal inventory is a survey conducted every ten years or so. It consists of an inventory of the commercial facilities and public services present in the municipality. This inventory allows us to ascertain the density of implantation and the frequency of use of the facilities, particularly in rural areas. The town inventory covers the following categories of facilities: shops and services, transport and journey providers, education, social action, sport and leisure facilities and tourism.
The 1998 municipality inventory was conducted in collaboration with the mayors’ offices of France, excluding municipalities with more than 30,000 residents and municipalities in the departments of Paris (75), Hauts-de-Seine (92), Seine-Saint-Denis (93) and Val-de-Marne (94).
