Definition

The index of orders in value received by industry, calculated since 1998, allows us to follow monthly developments in the value of orders received by French industrial firms for products in specific categories (chemicals, pharmaceuticals, metals etc.).
This index is calculated on the basis of specific surveys conducted by INSEE’s industrial statistics centre, and covers industrial companies operating in metropolitan France and employing more than 20 people.
