Labour Cost Survey

Definition

The Labour Cost Survey measures the average annual cost of an employee, and the cost per hour actually worked, and evaluates the various components of this cost (for the employer).

Note

The labour cost survey and the wage structure survey form a pair of complementary European surveys. Until 2005, each survey was four-yearly, alternating every two years. From 2006 they were integrated into the Survey on the cost of labour and wage structure (ECMOSS). This new procedure allows an annual adjustment of the changes in the cost of labour and work.
