Definition

The aim of the Holidays Survey, conducted by INSEE every five years on households in metropolitan France, is to gain an idea of the frequency and organisation of holidays in France.

The survey highlights differences in behaviour between households and establishes the percentage of citizens taking holidays away from home. This survey, along with the programme of which it was a part, the Permanent Living Conditions Survey, ceased to operate in 2006.
It has been replaced by the Statistics on Resources and Living Conditions programme.
