Survey of information and communication technologies use in business

Definition

The aim of this survey, carried out every year, is to better understand computerisation and the dissemination of information and communications technologies (ICT) in business. The survey allows us to assess the progress of ICT usage in European businesses.
This survey deals with the following themes: the development of new technologies and the intensity of their usage in business, the forms of ICT use (electronic commerce, sharing and exchange of information with the outside world) and the obstacles and results related to the prevalence of ICT.
The scope of this survey comprises businesses with 10 employees or more operating in commercial sectors, including the financial sector, the on-trade and audiovisual services, but not including personal services.

Note

This survey, which is led by INSEE, is conducted in partnership with the Statistics and Observation Department of the Ministry for Land Planning and the Statistics and Forward Planning Department of the Ministry for Agriculture.
