Annual sectoral survey

Definition

The purpose of the annual sectoral survey, carried out for the first time in 2009 and dealing with the year 2008, is to observe the different activities performed by companies in the following sectors: agriculture, food and associated industries, commerce, services, transport, public works and forestry.

The annual sectoral survey also allows us to study restructuring developments, and to establish the principal characteristics of each sector of the economy.
This survey replaces the corresponding annual business surveys, and deals with themes including the principal activity exercised, employment, the breakdown of turnover by product and any modifications of the business’s conditions of operation (restructuring operations).

This survey is sent to around 120,000 businesses in the aforementioned sectors located in mainland France.
