The Tax and Social Revenues Survey is an initiative which brings together the Employment Survey and the declarations of revenues and benefits received. It also integrates estimates of financial revenues generated by products which are exempt from tax or subject to a levy at source freeing the holder from tax obligations. It is conducted every year, and has been in its current form since the tax year 2005 (replacing the old Tax Revenues Survey).
The aim of the survey is to analyse the revenues of ordinary households in metropolitan France according to the usual socio-demographic criteria: socio-professional category and age of the members of the household, size of the household, location of the residence etc., but also taking into account the professional activity of each member. It specifies the manners in which the various types of revenue were accumulated (wages, pensions, agricultural, industrial, commercial and non-commercial profits) received by each member of the household.
The survey allows us to study the disposable incomes of households, the standard of living for individuals, monetary poverty and social inequality in terms of revenue.
