Survey of employees of local authorities and local public institutions (COLTER)

Definition

The COLTER survey, conducted every year by INSEE from 1980 to 2008 on public and semi-public bodies, aims to assess the level and progress of employment in regional government bodies and local public services. The survey provided information on the workforce employed, with data on sex, legal status, conditions, context and area of employment.

Used in partnership with other sources of employment information, COLTER helped us to estimate the level and progress of employment at different geographical levels.
