Regional grant for school equipment / DRES

Definition

The investment and operating expenses of secondary schools (except teaching and personnel expenses) are covered since 1 January 1986:
- by the region for high schools and equivalent level establishments ;
- by the department for middle schools.

While the transfer of operating competences is financed in the framework of the DGD paid to local authorities, in terms of investment, it is completed by:
- a regional grant for school equipment (DRES) allocated to regions;
- a departmental middle school equipment grant (DDEC) allocated to departments.
