Immediate placement centre

Definition

Immediate placement centres take in minors for whom immediate accommodation has been ordered by youth judges and as a priority for juvenile delinquents. This accommodation should make it possible to respond to an emergency situation, characterised by the impossibility for certain minors to remain in their family and social environment, particularly when they have just committed an offence and temporary removal is necessary pending a judicial response and long-term educational support.
