Aquaculture

Definition

Aquaculture is the set of activities that involve growing plants and breeding animals in continental or marine water to improve production. It involves the individual or legal possession of cultured stocks.
It groups together fish-farming, shellfish farming (farming of oysters, mussels, clams, cockles, etc.), algal culture and carcinoculture (farming of crustaceans, mainly shrimp and crayfish).
