Fines

Definition

Fines are a penalty that obliges the convicted person to pay a sum of money to the State. They are applicable in criminal court (fairly rare), in correctional court (as the main penalty with prison), and for contrventional court (as exclusive main penalty: their amount varies according to the class of the infringement). In all areas, fines may be deferred except for the first four classes of infringement.
