Definition

Local employment agencies (ALEs) represent the territorial intervention framework of Pôle Emploi. French territory has been gradually divided into ALE jurisdiction zones; these zones correspond to the geographic area where Pôle Emploi locally proposes its services to job seekers and employers.
Most often, ALEs are made up of a group of whole municipalities, but there may be several ALEs in a large city.
