Official statistics

Official statistics: a strong identity: France's official statistical system possesses five characteristics that strongly shape its organization and operation:

  • a single legal and institutional framework
  • a widespread presence throughout central-government administrative bodies
  • strong coordination
  • combining research/analysis and statistical production
  • a clearcut international involvement

Official statistics and enterprises: INSEE and ministerial statistical offices are partners in the "Official statistics and enterprises" approach.
