The European Statistics Code of Practice is centred on three objectives : to provide results which meet user needs, to guarantee the effectiveness of statistical procedures, and to ensure a credible institutional environment. It is broken down into fifteen principles and seventy-seven indicators as shown in the table below.
For each principle, a recap of the wording of the principle and its indicators is followed by a description of the measures existing in the official statistical system : for each indicator, all existing procedures are mentioned, and are accompanied by examples of information made available to users on the quality of statistical results.
More detailed entries on the quality (indicators, quality records or reports...) of each statistical output are made available online — as and when they become available — in the "Definitions and Methods" section, under the item "Data sources and methods", or in the pages dedicated to each statistical operation.
