Définition

The professional Bachelor’s degree, named “Licence professionnelle” in French, is a national university professional diploma, leading to the level “bac+3”. This first cycle degree was created in 1999 in partnership with businesses and professional branches in order to promote professional integration.

It may follow a DUT, BTS or a second year of “Licence” and its training proceeds in two semesters. Since the entry into force of the new training national context (2014), its title is defined with a field appellation and a mention name whose list is set by ministerial decree.

Remarque

It is hence classified at level II in the French classification of education levels and level 6 in the International standard one (ISCED 2011).
